How Expeditions work now

You get five days during the Expedition event to deal as much damage as possible. That damage can come from pretty much any style of play. Guns, gadgets, explosive tools, whatever fits your build. You're getting stuck into fights, taking risks, and actually earning something through action.

A fair catch-up, but not a cheap one

Not everyone's been around every season, and to be fair, Embark hasn't ignored that. The catch-up system is still tied to stash value, so returning players do have a way back into the race. But it's expensive. Really expensive, honestly. Each missed skill point can be recovered for 300,000 stash value or coins. That price will sting for a lot of people, especially if they've skipped more than one cycle. Still, it does stop the gap from getting out of hand. If you've been away, you're not locked out. You just need to decide whether closing that gap is worth the cost.

Rewards that actually feel worth chasing

The reward pool helps make the whole thing easier to buy into. Every Expedition offers permanent gains, not just one-off drops you'll forget about next week. The Patchwork Outfit (Evolved) is a standout, mostly because it gives players room to tweak the look with helmet, bandolier, and leg accessory options. The new colour sets, including White and Red or Black and Green, should land well with anyone who likes their character to look a bit less thrown together. There's also the Scrappy Turban, which already feels like one of those pieces people will want just for the style. On top of that, each Expedition adds 12 stash slots, and that kind of upgrade is never wasted.

Why consistency matters more than ever

The part that may really shape player behaviour is the streak bonus system. Stay active across multiple Expeditions and the rewards build in a noticeable way. XP gain rises from 5% to 15%, material gathering gets an 18% boost, and repair value can climb as high as 80%. That's no small perk. Miss a window, though, and the chain breaks, so there's real pressure to keep showing up. It gives the mode a stronger rhythm, and it should make each event feel more important than a quick side activity. For players chasing long-term progress, this update looks less like a loot checklist and more like a test of commitment, smart fights, and knowing when to push for better ARC Raiders gear during the run.
