Path of Exile 2 is packed with POE2 Currency features that many players overlook. This guide covers the most useful hidden tricks, quality of life improvements, and advanced mechanics that will make your gameplay smoother and more efficient.
Trade Site Secrets
The trade site has several powerful features that are easy to miss. You can press Alt+Shift and click on any item to automatically search for that item by its stats. This is incredibly useful for pricing items or finding similar upgrades. The search can be over-specific at times, but you can remove unwanted modifiers to narrow down your results.
For even more precise searching, use the "filter by item stats" button on any item listing. This populates all the item's stats into the search filters, allowing you to adjust them as needed. This is especially valuable when searching for unique items with wide roll ranges, like Headhunter, where you want specific stat combinations.
If you find an item you are considering buying, you can use the "copy item" button to copy its stats to your clipboard. Then open Path of Building, go to the items tab, and press Ctrl+V to paste it in. This lets you check the exact DPS difference between your current weapon and a potential upgrade before you spend your currency.
When searching for items, you can set the buyout price filter to only show listings in currency types you actually have, such as Divine Orbs or Chaos Orbs. This helps you avoid listings priced in annoying currencies like annulments or thousands of exalts. If you encounter a problematic seller, you can click the ignore button to hide their listings. You can manage your ignore list by clicking the X next to a name or using the clear ignore list button.
The in-game trade site can be accessed by typing /trade in chat. This brings up the trade market interface where you can browse and buy items without leaving the game.
Currency Exchange Shortcuts
The currency exchange has several keyboard shortcuts that save time. You can Ctrl+click Alva to open the exchange window immediately. Once open, Ctrl+click items to put them in the "I have" section, and Ctrl+Shift+click to put them in the "I want" section. You can also Ctrl+click either side to swap the currencies around.
While you normally cannot open your stash and the currency exchange at the same time, there is a workaround. Place Alva next to your stash, click your stash, and just as you reach it, quickly click Alva. Then click currency exchange, close it, and you can now Ctrl+click or Ctrl+Shift+click everything you want to sell directly from your stash.
Vendor and Disenchant Tricks
Every vendor has specific functions that can be accessed quickly. Ctrl+click a vendor to bring up their primary function, such as disenchant for vendors that offer it. Alt+click brings up their buy/sell window. For vendors with multiple functions like Alva, Ctrl+click opens the currency exchange, Alt+click opens the gamble window, and Ctrl+Alt+click opens the merchant tab to view your sales.
You can identify all items quickly at the Hooded One or Doryani by Ctrl+clicking them. Vendor inventories partially refresh every time your character levels up, making it worth checking during the campaign for potential upgrades.
When disenchanting, selling one perfect currency item gives you three of the lower tier, and selling one greater currency gives you three normal currency items. If you have a tame beast gem with a captured beast, you can disenchant it to get back a clean gem, allowing you to capture a new beast.
Stash Tab Management
Stash tab affinities automatically send items to their appropriate tabs when you Ctrl+click them. You can enable these by clicking stash options and enabling tab affinities, then right-clicking a tab to set its affinity. Even normal premium tabs can have affinities set, so you do not need the special tabs to use this feature.
If you want to ignore affinities and put an item into a specific tab, Ctrl+Shift+click instead. This is useful when tracking currency from a specific farming strategy. You can also Ctrl+right-click to send all items of that type into your stash, or take them out the same way.
To organize your tabs quickly, right-click a tab and choose "move to top" to push it straight up. You can also click and drag to rearrange tabs, or click and scroll to move through a large list faster. Folders allow you to group related tabs together. Click create new folder, name it by right-clicking, and drag tabs into it.
Passive Tree Optimization
Allocating passive points can be done instantly by holding Ctrl while clicking. For attribute points, you can set quick allocate hotkeys in options under input. Assign Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence to keys like A, S, and D for fast allocation.
Weapon set points can be allocated much faster using Ctrl+Shift+left click for weapon set one, and Ctrl+Shift+right click for weapon set two. This saves significant time when setting up multiple weapon configurations.
The refund all passives button allows you to reset your entire tree in one click, but you must remove all jewels from your tree first. The button shows the total cost before you commit.
When searching the passive tree, press Ctrl+F to open the search bar. Type in a notable name like Mind Over Matter, and the tree will highlight matching nodes. Press Enter to jump directly to the node. For general searches like "area of effect," press Enter repeatedly to cycle through all matching nodes.
A powerful trick involves Split Personality jewels. If you have two jewel sockets connected to different class starting points and connect them together, you can refund your original starting point and have a character that starts from a different class's position on the tree. This may be patched in the future, but it opens up unique build possibilities.
Weapon Set and Skill Tips
If you have one weapon you want to use with both weapon set passive points, you can right-click the weapon set button and assign the same weapon to both sets. This allows different passive allocations with the same weapon.
When viewing any notable passive, press Alt to see its installment requirements. You can pin it to the side by clicking the pin icon, which is useful for comparing different nodes. The same pinning works for items, allowing you to compare weapons side by side.
Skills granted by items do not reserve spirit and do not require attributes. For example, Herald of Ice, Thunder, and Ash from a body armor cost no spirit and ignore attribute requirements. You can also increase the number of sockets on skills granted by items using Jeweller's Orbs, and increase their level with Perfect Flux.
Hideout Customization
When editing your hideout, press R to rotate objects clockwise and Shift+R to rotate counterclockwise. Use cursor keys to fine-tune positioning. Press Z to hide labels, which also hides item labels on the ground until you hover over them.
Hideout access can be restricted through decoration options. You can set portal access to only friends or only yourself, preventing random players from jumping into your maps while selling items.
You can export your hideout layout and share it with others, or import hideouts from community websites like Path of Hideouts. This is a great way to find and use creative hideout designs.
Movement and Sprinting
By default, sprinting requires holding the dodge roll button. However, in game options under movement, you can enable "keep sprinting while moving." This makes you continue sprinting even after releasing the button. Be careful with this setting, as it can lead to accidental deaths. You can also bind a separate "dodge only" button to avoid sprinting entirely, which is recommended for hardcore players.
Campaign and Endgame Navigation
You can farm campaign areas repeatedly by Ctrl+clicking the entrance or waypoint to open the instance manager and create a fresh instance. This refreshes all monsters and bosses in the zone.
Permanent buff locations show as skulls on the world map. Hover over them to see what they provide. If they are X'd out, you have already completed them. By the end of the campaign, you should have 24 passive points from these sources.
In Act 1, weapon racks in The Red Veil contain upgraded martial weapon base types. In Act 2, the league mechanic in areas after Traitor's Passage and Halani Gate, especially Marceron Badlands, often guarantees a Lesser Jeweller's Orb. In Act 3, Sand Swamp Marsh has a guaranteed Lesser Jeweller's Orb near an orc campfire checkpoint. In Act 4, Nekano's league mechanic can drop a Greater Jeweller's Orb.
For endgame mapping, you can add bookmarks to the Atlas by right-clicking a node and adding a marker. This helps you remember important locations. Completed bookmarks appear in red and can be removed. The edge display shows icons on the Atlas edges for quick navigation. Press Ctrl+F to search for specific maps, like "delirium," and press Enter to jump to that location.
You can Ctrl+click endgame hubs to instantly open a portal instead of clicking traverse and confirming.
Chat Commands
Type /hideout to teleport directly to your hideout. Type /help to see a list of all useful chat commands. /played shows your character's total playtime. /deaths shows how many times you have died. /kills shows your total monster kills. /dnd toggles do not disturb mode. /reset_xp helps track experience per hour. These commands add significant convenience to your gameplay.
Hidden Secrets
At the Site of the Chosen, located behind the Origin Tower, you can collect a free passive point from the Mote of the Martyr's Power. This is available after the first player on the server reaches level 100 and sacrifices their character.
Instillments can grant hidden passive notables that do not exist on the passive tree, such as Paragon. A full list of these hidden passives is available on poedb.
You can rename your character through your Path of Exile profile page on the official website. Select a character and choose a new name, or swap names between characters.
UI and Display Settings
You can adjust cursor color and size in options under UI to avoid losing your cursor. Enable always show sockets, show flask buffs and aura icons, and display a clock. The low life warning can be turned off if it is annoying for your build.
Show mini life bar above your character to cheap POE 2 Currency track health without looking away from the action. Enable show life and mana levels to display numerical values for life, mana, and spirit.
